How does Indus Threads work?

Shop: Filter by style, designer and more to find the best look.

Reserve: Choose a delivery and return date, and rent for 4 days

Receive: The dress will be delivered to your home, office or hotel by 8pm on your delivery date

Return: Returns are free! Place items in the provided packaging (which includes a pre-paid label). Take the packaging to a UPS drop box or schedule a pickup by 12pm on your rental return date. We’ll handle the dry cleaning.

What if I accidentally stain or damage the dress?

We understand that some wear and tear may be inevitable, and the $5 insurance fee covers minor stains and damage. But significant damage and theft aren't covered under the insurance. If the item is damaged beyond repair, the fee is the retail price of the item. If the item is never returned, the fee is double the retail price of the item.

How are the dresses cleaned?

We take great care to clean the dresses. The team at our warehouse in Los Altos, CA uses a variety of techniques to ensure that each style is dry cleaned thoroughly, steamed and pressed, inspected for quality, and packaged with care so that it’s ready for you to wear.

Can I make an appointment at the Indus Threads studio for my party?

Can I get online help to select my perfect size?  

Yes. We have stylists available via phone and email to help you select your accurate size.

How long is a rental?

Our rentals are 4 day reservations. We recommend you book your order to arrive 1-2 days prior to your event to ensure you have plenty of time to get the perfect look. Think of it this way:

Day 1 - Receive your dress and try it on

Day 2 - Accessorize and find the right shoes for the dress

Day 3 - Wear it at your event

Day 4 - Return your rental at your nearest UPS location by 12pm


How far in advance can I reserve my dress?

You can reserve your dress up to 2 months in advance and schedule for it to arrive 1-2 days prior to event.


Where can I find my order number?

Your order number is located under your account page.  Please reference this number if you have any queries regarding your order.

How can I cancel my order?

Please call or email immediately to cancel your order. You may cancel your rental order subject to the following cancellation fees and policies:

  1. If you cancel thirty (30) or more days in advance of the delivery date, there is no cancellation fee and you will receive a full refund issued to the payment card you used for the order.
  2. If you cancel less than thirty (30) days but more than fourteen (14) days in advance of the delivery date, you will not receive any refund, but you will receive a full credit to your IT account for the Rental Fee associated with the cancelled order. This credit can be applied to any future IT rental.
  3. If you cancel fourteen (14) or fewer days in advance of the delivery date, you will receive a credit to your IT account for the Rental Fee associated with the cancelled order, minus a cancellation fee of $29.95.

How can I change my shipping address?

You can make this adjustment in the Addresses section of your “My Account” page. Follow these 3 easy steps:

  • Click the “View Address” button on bottom left.
  • Select the new address from your stored addresses or add a new one.
  • Confirm the change.

    How do I return my order?

    Return labels are shipped in the packaging. Pack your order using this label and drop it off at your nearest UPS facility or schedule a UPS pickup. We handle the dry cleaning.

    What if I return my order late?

    If you return the Products late or not at all, a late fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) will be charged to the payment card you used to pay the Rental Fee or to any other payment card included in your account information that you have provided to IT for every day that you are late returning the Products, and you agree to pay such late fees, up to an amount not to exceed 200% of the Retail Value plus applicable sales tax (plus the Rental Fee).
